The Warmth of Wool to Warm the Heart
As a multifaceted artist, I find myself expressing my creativity in many ways. I enjoy painting with oils and pastels, and have completed 16 murals in the eastern Washington area.
As a girl, I discovered a spinning wheel in my grandmother’s attic. I was always fascinated by it and wanted to bring it down and see how it worked. At the time, it was too much trouble. Years later, I learned my mother had kept the wheel – now in pieces – with the intention of restoring it. Wanting to understand how the wheel worked, I purchased a new one and joined a wool spinning group. From there, I discovered the world of felting.
Given my painting background, it was only natural that I was drawn to wool painting. Using needle felting techniques, I could manipulate wool fibers to create beautiful scenery. I particularly enjoy creating scenes of the country life in eastern Washington.
